Life’s most meaningful growth often happens in moments of vulnerability and reflection, where strength can meet tenderness. As a counselor, my goal is to cultivate a space that feels empowered, safe, and authentic for you to cultivate that vulnerability and reflection. Whether you’re navigating the identity shifts, finding your mind often overwhelmed by emotions and stories hard to put into words, or you’re experiencing too many heavy days, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing. Therapy can help you to uncover deeper patterns and facilitate collaborative insights into your emotions to promote meaningful change.

I take a holistic and integrated approach to therapy, joining Feminist, Relational, and Psychodynamic frameworks through a trauma-informed lens. My approach offers compassion, curiosity, and the opportunity to explore yourself authentically and on your own timeline. My goal is to help you move beyond “survival mode” and toward a life shaped by your deepest values. In session I might pull from somatic experiencing to understand the sensations in your body better, discuss unhelpful patterns often developed in childhood, or employ practices such as mindfulness training and emotional regulation strategies, when necessary.

My training and experience is with women and their families either individually or in couples. My specialties include women’s issues, relationship and sexual challenges, life transitions (such as young adults, parenthood, career and identity shifts), complex family dynamics, self-esteem, mood disorders, and trauma-related disorders. I also have extensive experience treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, with particular expertise in infertility and perinatal loss. I am particularly drawn to working with those who feel overwhelmed by roles they never fully chose, or those who are trying to reconnect with themselves after years spent in “survival mode”.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Dance Pedagogy and Psychology from Butler University in Indiana, and received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Northwestern University. Before joining Wildflower, I gained extensive experience in different clinical settings including a women’s hospital in which I supported pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families with issues concerning mental health, gender-based violence, substance use, grief and loss, and infants born prematurely.

Key Beliefs

  • “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination” – Carl Rogers
  • Growth and healing happen in relationships. Mutual empathy is at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.
  • We all have the ability to create new patterns of thinking, living, and being, and our emotions tell us where to begin.

More About Me

  • As I am originally from San Diego, I feel most at peace spending my days outdoors especially in warm weather. Whether I am hiking, swimming in the ocean, or exploring a farmers’ market, I always find ways to be in nature.
  • I was a ballerina before I was a counselor and danced professionally. Now, I am drawn to yoga and Pilates for my exercise because of the similar body awareness, fluidity, and discipline.
  • I am a sister to four siblings, two of whom are older, and two of whom are younger. My family is very blended, bringing together different cultures, values, and generations. While it has been difficult to navigate at times, I am so grateful to have my family as they have helped me to be a better sister, daughter, and person.
