(she/her)

It is truly an honor to accompany clients on their journey within. I sincerely believe that within each of us is the wisdom, strength, and courage to create the life we want. As partners in the therapeutic process, we can find solutions that work for you. I offer each of my clients a safe space to explore their feelings and examine their lives. This can also include learning tools and strategies to help you overcome difficulties and introduce new perspectives to alleviate pressures you may be facing.

Our relationship will always include my sincere respect for your self-determination and the intrinsic knowledge you have of your own life. I specialize in supporting individuals who may struggle with life’s transitions due to its ever-changing nature. These transitions can include the transition to parenthood, relationships, career changes, exploring aspects of personal identity, and more.

The modalities I use include dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), culturally sensitive and trauma focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solution-focused principles. I also call upon attachment and existential theories in my work. However, the most powerful tool we will use in working together will be the safe space we create. I believe that relationships create spaces where healing can happen. As we use various modalities, I am always open to tailoring treatment to meet your individual needs. Self-determination is key in building our therapeutic alliance.

I completed my bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for ten years in higher education as an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Professor. Developing relationships with students and coming to understand their mental health needs inspired me to pursue my master’s degree in social work at the Jane Addams College of Social Work. I began my career as a school social worker and then transitioned later into private practice.
