As a therapist at Wildflower, it is an honor and a privilege to be invited to accompany people exploring life situations and relationships. I approach the therapeutic relationship with empathy, curiosity, and openness and practice from a trauma-informed lens. I take a person-centered approach, work to meet clients where they are at, and adapt to the unique needs and goals of each client. I seek to create an environment where each client feels fully seen, heard, and accepted. I strive to work collaboratively with clients to reach their goals and work toward sustainable change. I approach therapy with humility and employ humor when appropriate.
My clinical interests include working with individuals, couples, and family systems faced with trauma; anxiety and mood conditions; relationship challenges; grief and loss; life transitions, including the perinatal period; and exploration of identity. I work with individuals and couples over age eighteen and have particular interest in working with law students and lawyers.
I draw from several evidence-based practices, including Psychodynamic Therapy; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT); Motivational Interviewing; Family Systems Therapy; and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). As a life-long learner, I am committed to continuing my training and education to grow as a therapist and to better serve clients.
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago, with a focus on clinical practice. Before joining Wildflower, I worked in an emergency shelter for women and children; provided case management to military veterans, and to families navigating the guardianship process; and provided therapy to undergraduate and graduate students in a university wellness center. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent more than twenty years as a legal aid attorney representing survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I earned my Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law.
