I came to this work the long way around. After studying business at Boston College, I spent several years on a different career path before recognizing that the work I was most drawn to was centered on people: their inner lives, their resilience, their capacity for change. That pull led me to the field of social work, and eventually to two decades of clinical practice across community mental health, inpatient hospital, intensive outpatient program, and private practice settings. The circuitous path turned out to be the right one for me, and my life experiences continue to inform the clinician I’ve become.
That includes being an adoptee. Adoption is often framed as a positive solution for children and families, yet its reality is far more complex. All members of the adoption triad are impacted in profound ways. Adoptees may grapple with questions around identity, belonging, loss, and attachment––questions that do not simply resolve, even when a person is raised in a deeply loving home. Adoptive parents often carry the stress and grief that can accompany the adoption process. Birth parents live with the emotional weight of placement, no matter how much time has passed. Those considering adoption may also be navigating infertility, loss, and uncertainty about how to move forward.
I am especially passionate about working with:
- Adult adoptees
- Adoptive parents
- Birth parents
- Anyone grieving infertility or pregnancy loss, including those exploring adoption as a family-building option
Beyond adoption-related work, my clinical specialties include perinatal and reproductive mental health, infertility, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma therapy, sex therapy, and mood and anxiety disorders.
I am a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) and a certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician (PMH-C). My approach integrates psychodynamic and existential perspectives with trauma-informed, evidence-based modalities including ACT, CBT, DBT, and ERP. I am deeply committed to ongoing professional growth and enjoy mentoring emerging clinicians through clinical consultation and supervision.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Boston College and a Master of Arts in clinical social work from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. My proudest professional chapter has been co-creating Wildflower and having the opportunity to work alongside such a gifted group of clinicians.
Outside of Wildflower, you will find me juggling life with my husband, son, and our sweet dog, Alice, who collectively keep me on my toes. I love skiing and spending time anywhere among the trees. My lifelong friendships continue to keep me grounded and smiling.
