Life can throw curveballs that we are not expecting. Therapy is an opportunity to gain support in addressing whatever shows up. As a psychotherapist, I help clients with accepting what is not in their control while working towards changing what is in their control. I strive to create a space where clients feel fully seen as a unique individual deserving of compassion and support. I utilize a person-centered, holistic approach where we can work together to address current emotional experiences and process past wounds, and find meaning and choice in creating a path forward.
My therapeutic approach can be described as relational, warm, and non-judgmental. I see humans as experts of their own experiences and feel grateful to support clients in living fulfilling, values-driven lives. I am direct and compassionate and incorporate humor when appropriate in my work with clients.
My clinical areas of speciality include relationship issues, anxiety, depression, disordered eating and body image issues, and various life transitions. I have specific interest in working with couples, athletes/former athletes, Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP), career issues and burnout, and those who are on a journey through parenthood. As a former Division 1 college athlete and HSP myself, I feel especially passionate about working with clients who experience challenges related to these areas.
I received training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am informed by these evidence-based orientations and also incorporate a relational psychodynamic style to identify and address current ways of relating to others and the world that often stem from our past. I am currently pursuing further specialized training in perinatal and reproductive mental health and couples therapy. I am delighted to work with individuals and couples navigating parenthood and its impact on their relationships.
I obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Prior to joining Wildflower, I was a therapist in Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care supporting individuals and families struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, and other concerns. I also have experience working in a community mental health setting where I supported youth and their families.
