Stephanie Prymas, MA, LPC
Stephanie Prymas is a Licensed Professional Counselor and staff therapist/clinical coordinator at Wildflower Center for Emotional Health. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Northwestern University.
Stephanie has received clinical training at both the Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health, in their partial hospitalization program, and at the Family Institute at Northwestern. She is currently completing a clinical fellowship focused on working with trauma and mind-body therapies. Stephanie’s training and consultation in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) also influences her trauma-informed clinical approach.
Stephanie’s interest in interpersonal neurobiology supports her passion for using the therapeutic relationship to identify existing patterns and test more fulfilling ways of operating in relationships. Stephanie strongly believes that therapy should both provide affirmation and help facilitate lasting change. She is also committed to appreciating complexity, the value of difference and intersectionality, and the importance of systems in her therapeutic work.
Prior to joining Wildflower, Stephanie served as the lead therapist and clinical research coordinator for a clinical trial in the Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine examining addiction interventions for individuals with major depressive disorder. Prior to beginning her clinical training, Stephanie worked in both consulting and research settings focusing on a variety of issues, including disability compensation at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
