Katie Hibey, MA, LCPC, CYT



Katie Hibey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and therapist at Wildflower Center for Emotional Health. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Ohio University and her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. 

Since obtaining her Masters degree, Katie has worked in private practice and higher levels of care with both adolescents and adults, serving as an individual, couples, family, and group therapist, as well as an intake coordinator. She has supported clients in addressing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, perinatal mental health, interpersonal issues, relationship concerns, and work-life harmony.

In addition to receiving specialized training in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International, Katie also enjoys working with adolescents, emerging adults, and men who may be new to therapy.

Katie is also a certified yoga instructor and, when appropriate, incorporates aspects of yoga, such as mindfulness and gentle movement, into her work with clients. Since obtaining her certification, she has taught yoga at The University of Chicago, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Tejas Yoga, and the Union League Club of Chicago. Katie has also lead yoga mind-body workshops for Lurie Children's Hospital, Accenture, Pinterest, New Trier High School, A Long Walk Home, and

As a therapist, Katie's aim is to create a safe and supportive environment, honor each individual's unique experience and, together, work to facilitate lasting change. Along with exploring past experiences and patterns that may be contributing to current concerns, she use a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapies to promote the path to mental and physical well-being.
