Jennifer Batza, MA, LCSW

Jennifer Batza is a licensed clinical social worker and staff therapist for both English and Spanish speaking clients at Wildflower Center for Emotional Health.  Between earning an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Spanish at Georgia State University and a Master's degree in Social Work at The University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration, Jennifer worked in U.S. and across Latin America for multinational corporations and law firms.  She is fluent in Spanish and has completed training as a medical interpreter for Spanish.

Jennifer prepared for clinical practice by supporting families and medical professionals managing high risk pregnancy or bereavement in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit, Maternal Fetal Medicine practice, outpatient obstetric clinics, and Labor and Delivery units of Evanston and Highland Park Hospitals. Jennifer acquired seven years of experience in supporting thousands of clients who faced high stakes medical decisions, illness or demise of self or a loved one, caregiver fatigue in patients or professionals, infertility, and marital conflict. Jennifer also acquired expertise in serving patients remotely by staffing the NorthShore MOMS hotline dedicated to crisis management of mood disorders in pregnancy, pregnancy loss, and the postpartum.

Jennifer believes that evidence should underpin good intentions.  She applies evidence from constant review of current research and continuous training to bring clients tested techniques. In addition to experiential learning, Jennifer has acquired specialized training in, among others, perinatal mood disorders, mindfulness for enriched resilience, Acceptance and Commitment therapy for management of chronic pain and illness, using attachment theory with new parents and with individual clients, and bereavement support techniques.
